The Newcomer’s Guide to Edmonton was produced with the input and suggestions of many people who use the guide including newcomers, settlement workers, English language instructors, and cultural brokers. If you are new to Edmonton from another part of Alberta, Canada, or the world, the Newcomer’s Guide to Edmonton has information about many services that will help you to settle in your new city. The information is divided into these sections:
New Edmontonians are welcome to visit the Citizen and New Arrival Information Centre on the main floor of City Hall to find more information.
New residents are also encouraged to phone the City of Edmonton’s 311 line which has interpreters for over 150 different languages for those who speak languages other than English.
Orientation Guidebook for Newcomers to Canada – Catholic Social Services (CSS) created this orientation guidebook in French and English to support newcomers to Edmonton. This guide has information to help newcomers settle into their new home.
