Community Collaboration

Everyone should feel they belong. ELIP brings organizations, communities, and individuals together to co-create paths to belonging for newcomers.

Because belonging can mean different things for different people, ELIP’s structure is agile, in order to better respond to many different types of needs in many different communities.

ELIP does not have formal membership. All community stakeholders that serve newcomers are welcome to bring their insights and experience to the table, provided they have the capacity and willingness to be an active partner — to engage in the creation of community-based partnerships that coordinate, plan, and enable opportunities to address the needs of newcomers.

To join the Edmonton Local Immigration Partnership Network, please complete the ELIP Partner Directory Survey.

Contact us to join our Community Collaboration mailing list. You will receive a link to participate in the monthly Community Collaboration Round Table.

Check the ELIP Community Calendar for upcoming Community Collaboration Round Table dates.

The Role of Active Partners:

  1. Contribute your thoughts and ideas. Bring your perspectives, resources, and passion to conversations.
  2. Learn from others, challenge your assumptions, and work from a place of curiosity and creativity.
  3. Build a shared understanding of what inclusion for newcomers looks like and work with others to realize that vision.

ELIP Inclusive Partnership Council

The ELIP Inclusive Partnership Council is made up of stakeholders that have experience, expertise, and/or interest in immigration and settlement realities/issues. The ELIP Council Terms of Reference describes our governance, vision, mandate, guiding values, operating guidelines, and roles and responsibilities — providing a framework to ensure the ELIP Council’s ability to fulfil its purpose to guide the activities of the partnership.
