ELIP Employment Action Table
Building Bridges to Meaningful Employment
The Employment Action Table (EAT) is a collaborative working group designed to bring together job seekers, newcomers, employers, and service providers to create real solutions for employment challenges in Edmonton.
We believe that everyone has a role to play — from employers seeking skilled talent, to service providers supporting job readiness, to newcomers eager to contribute their skills and experience to the local workforce.
At EAT, we:
- Foster connections between employment support organizations, businesses, and community groups.
- Break down barriers to hiring and retention for racialized immigrants.
- Empower employers with culturally appropriate hiring and retention strategies.
- Enhance job readiness through leadership and workplace skills training.
- Champion employment equity by advocating for policy and program improvements.
This table is open, inclusive, and action-driven, prioritizing voices that are often underrepresented — including newcomers, Indigenous communities, and people with disabilities. Together, we’re shaping a workforce where diversity thrives, and opportunities are accessible to all.
Join us in creating a more welcoming, equitable, and prosperous Edmonton for everyone.
ELIP Newcomer Community Safety and Well-being Action Table
At the Community Safety and Wellbeing Action table, we gather opinions and ideas from Edmonton grassroots leaders in newcomer communities in order to create a resource for well-being through community and solidarity. This resource will be developed, and then implemented, through an Action Plan based upon group consensus. This table is scheduled to last one year, but a permanent Grassroots Leader Table will then take on the implementation of the agreed-upon resource in the future.
