Celebrating Black History Month 2026

In February, we recognize Black History Month, an important opportunity to celebrate the achievements, contributions, and legacy of Black communities in Canada.
Black History Month is also a time to learn more about the stories, experiences, and contributions that have helped shape Canada’s past and continue to influence its future. It is a moment to celebrate diversity, encourage meaningful dialogue, and reaffirm our commitment to inclusion, equity, and respect.
This year’s theme highlights the importance of honouring the contributions of past generations while inspiring future generations, recognizing the leadership, creativity, and resilience of Black communities across the country.
At ELIP, we use this month as an opportunity to continue learning and to celebrate the diversity of perspectives and experiences that help build more inclusive communities for everyone.
